How I live?

How can I live with 3 USD per day? How is it possible to enjoy all beauties of Asia, realize my dreams, eat amazing Asian food and not to live under the bridge? It’s pretty easy…

Volunteering – that is the magic word. In each place where I stay I work. In exchange for the accommodation and food free of charge I work normally around 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Each volunteering is different. Everything is about deal between you and host.

For searching the volunteering I use server workaway.info. There you can sign up for 29 USD for one year as an individual traveller, or for 38 USD as a couple.

On the workaway site are any different possibilities what to do. Plenty of the hostel and hotel works. A lot of the Eco projects and work in the communicities. Teaching in the schools and not just languages. Finally the agriculture projects and many others.

What did I as the projects? I started with workaway in the Malaysia jungle. There I worked on the Bamboo heritage farm with the other four volunteers. I continued with three different hostels or guest houses in Malaysia. Each of them I can recommend because of thamazing atmosphere, easy going owners and the reasonable prices.

In Ipoh it is located Eloft hostel. Air conditional dormitory near to the night Chinese market. Stay in the ten-bed dormitory cost around 30 Ringitts (7,5 USD).

Than on the island Langkawi it is skate-skim-long-whateverboard shop with the five beds room and four beds room at the back. Concept names Shaka Langkawi and hostel names Bunk inn. Night will cost you around 30 Ringitts (7,5 USD).

Last one from Malaysian list is De Native guest house in Cameron Highlands. There is an amazing one big family atmosphere with the fire and karaoke almost every evening. Night in the dormitory will cost you around 35 Ringitts (8,5 USD) and price for the private bungalow is 70 Ringitts (17 USD).

On Bali I worked first time without workaway. I negotiated with Dewie in the Bali Semesta Hostel, that I can stay there for free in exchange of the occasionally help on the reception during the evening. This hostel is really good located (5 minutes of walking from arrivals) with nice family atmosphere. Night will cost you around 80 000 Indonesian rupiahs (6 USD) in the eight bed dormitory and 200 000 IDR (15 USD) in the private room.

And about my last two projects I will tell you in the next posts. You can looking forward for jewelry and teaching English of the kids.
