Malaysian jungle

Jungle. Wild, dangerous, full of the sounds, smells, various plants and different animal species… It was my child hood picture how jungle looks like. Taste of the misterous connected with this word was every time really strong.

Janda Baik, the small village in the middle of the hilly jungle one hour ride from Kuala Lumpur. This was my first destination after arrival to Malaysia. First stop “On the road”. After 15 days of living with Rubi and Khirol at the Bamboo Heritage farm my childhood picture of the jungle wants far from the reality. I would change just one thing – jungle is not dangerous. You have to know what to do and how to act. Best think is to have someone who knows the rules of the Jungle.

Have you ever asked yourself when and why am I  scared?? I do. I’m scared just about things and situations which I don’t know. About the situation which are new for me. If you have right information there shouldn’t be space for fear…

In exchange of the accommodation, delicious food and ten Ringgits I was helping with the cutting grass, concreting, building the stairs from the house to the river, etc… We worked during the morning until 13 o’clock. We had one day off during the week. In the afternoon we had rest for planning our journey, playing some games and talking. Debates with Khirol was mainly about the religion, the politics and the economical stuff. This 50 years old Muslim man knows a lot, he read Bible, Al-Koran and his hobby is history. Talks were really enriching for me…

These 15 days helped me a lot. I changed my eating habits (started to eat chilly), my sleeping habits (time change). I realized that even if I haven’t travel buddy I won’t never travel alone. All together told me: “everything will be all right Kuba, no worries”.

Not just about this I’m going to write in the future… Photos will be in the few moments 🙂
